CURRENT SITUATION
The current situation at Elm Place Middle School is that we are not as green as we could possibly be and it is becoming a problem in our environment. There are many things we do that is not going green like when we waste energy when charging laptops, we waste too much heat when we try to keep our classrooms warm, we use a lot of paper that is mostly wasted, and we do not always turn the lights off when we leave a class room. As we all know, we do try very hard to go green too. For example, we always recycle when possible, we use environmentally friendly hot lunch containers, we use florescent light bulbs and have a whole project about creating a green school. We could do a lot more to become LEED certified, which is many people's goal.
